You might assume an “urban escapee” hates cities. Not so.
An urban escapee, as I see it, holds at least one of two philosophies.
The first, very literal, is someone with a desire to leave the city for a different paradigm (a topic I discuss on my blog.)
The second is a more philosophical stance. Here, I imagine urban escapees as those who reject the built environment and development norms of the last sixty or more years. These decisions resulted in the following so-called “urban” (but factually suburban) problems:
Environmental Pollution/Community Disengagement/Car-Dependency/”Generica”/Habitat Destruction/Industrial Food/Land Loss/
Over-Development/Traffic
As a commercial writer I specialize in producing “marcom” (marketing communication) for companies and organizations working to reverse these trends and bring positive change in these areas:
Arts & Culture/Beautification/Community Engagement/Downtown Revitalization/
Green Spaces/Local Food/Land Stewardship/Historic Preservation/
Micro-finance/New Ruralism/Small, Independent Business/
Smart Development/Sustainability/New Urbanism/Walkable Communities
Some of my clients are back-to-nature-types, hippies, and freaks (my highest compliments). Others are well-known and well-respected local and national companies and organizations such as:
America Online/Commonwealth of Virginia – Community Development Block Grant/
Eastern Mennonite University/Staunton Creative Community Fund/
Staunton Green 2020/T&E Meats
Curious what I can do for you?
Please review my services and shoot me an email to discuss your project, one urban escapee to another.
